Critical Shooting Incident

Incident Date: 6/22/2015

Incident Time: 3:05 AM

Incident Location: 2700 block of East Paulding Road

Victim: Adult Male/Critical Condition

On June 22, 2015, at 03:05 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department received multiple reports of gunshots in the 2700 block of East Paulding Road. A minute later, we received a report of an adult male who had been shot. Officers arrived and located the male, who was found to be in serious condition. Officers provided first aid until the medics transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was downgraded to critical condition.

At this time, it is unclear what led to the shooting. A police K-9 unit was used to try to track any persons leaving the scene, but this track was unsuccessful. Detectives are speaking with residents, trying to determine if anyone saw or heard anything. Crime scene units are processing the scene, searching for and collecting evidence.

There are currently no suspects or persons of interest. It is too early to tell if any gang activity played a role, as it is currently unknown what led to the shooting. At this time no weapons have been recovered.
