…The flood warning has been extended for the following rivers…

  • Salamonie River below Warren affecting Blackford…Huntington…Jay…Wabash and Wells Counties
  • Wabash River near Bluffton affecting Huntington and Wells Counties
  • Wabash River at Wabash affecting Cass…Miami and Wabash Counties
  • Eel River at North Manchester affecting Cass…Kosciusko…Miami…Wabash and Whitley Counties
  • Kankakee River at Davis Route 30 affecting La Porte…St. Joseph and Starke Counties
  • Auglaize River near Ft. Jennings affecting Allen…Paulding and Putnam Counties
  • Auglaize River near Defiance Power Plant affecting Defiance County
  • Blanchard River at Ottawa affecting Putnam County
  • Maumee River near Defiance affecting Defiance and Henry Counties
  • Maumee River at Napoleon affecting Henry County

  • Tippecanoe River at Norway Dam affecting Carroll and White Counties

.Runoff from recent heavy rainfall is causing flooding along area rivers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Safety message…Never drive vehicles through flooded areas. the water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or
local media for further statements and updated forecasts.

The Flood Warning has been extended for The Saint Marys River at Muldoon Bridge

* until Monday evening.
* At 11 AM Thursday the stage was 19.6 feet and rising.
* Major flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Forecast…The river will rise to a crest near 19.9 feet around 8 PM Friday June 19 and fall below flood stage around 6 PM Sunday June 21.
* At 20.0 feet…A major flood is in progress and water is nearing the top of many levees. When the Muldoon Bridge gage reads 20.3 feet, the flood becomes a 100 year event.

The Flood Warning continues for The Little River above Huntington

* until further notice.
* At 11 AM Thursday the stage was 18.1 feet and steady.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast…The river will rise to a crest near 19.0 feet around 2 PM Thursday June 18 and begin falling.
* At 19.0 feet…At this level, many roads and bridges will be closed and there will be extensive inundation and damage with many evacuations.
* This crest compares to a previous crest of 18.9 feet which occurred on Feb 7 2008.
