News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House Fire, 4737 Bowser Avenue
(June 18, 2015) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 4737 Bowser Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters found 2 occupants outside of a 1 story home with heavy smoke coming from the doors and windows.
The occupants stated that their 3 cats were still inside. Firefighters entered the structure, extinguished the kitchen fire and rescued 3 cats from the interior. The cats were given oxygen until Animal Control arrived and assisted with treatment. No other injuries were reported.
The fire was determined to be a result of unattended cooking.
