Game recap from the TinCaps:

Reyes homers in loss to Kane County Cougars

(June 11, 2015) – The TinCaps went to bat with the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night, but lost to the Kane County Cougars, 9-3. Fort Wayne fell two Adam Vinatieri field goals short of a potential rally.

It was the three-time Pro-Bowler Vinatieri and Colts long snapper Matt Overton who spent time signing autographs for fans before Thursday’s game. The pair of Pro-Bowlers also threw out ceremonial first pitches before the second game of Fort Wayne’s three-game series with Kane County.

The Cougars struck first in the second inning. They scattered four hits off of TinCaps starter Michael Kelly (L, 2-1) and scored three runs to take a 3-0 lead.

The visitors added another in the fourth when Elvin Soto drove in Joe Munoz with an infield single.

The TinCaps cut the four-run deficit in half in the bottom of the frame. Trae Santos singled with one out, and then Franmil Reyes vaulted his fourth home run of the season over the left-center wall. The home team trailed 4-2.

Kane County pulled away in the fifth inning. Munoz had himself a night. The third baseman hit a three-run homer in the fifth and then a two-run dinger in the seventh. The Cougars led 9-3 and provided plenty of run support for their starter, Markus Solbach (W, 6-2).

Fort Wayne scratched one more across in the bottom of the sixth inning after Reyes doubled in Nick Torres.

The two teams are back at Parkview Field on Friday for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch. The probable starters are Thomas Dorminy (5-4, 4.30) for Fort Wayne and Wei-Chieh Huang (3-0, 2.04) for Kane County.

Watch the action on Comcast Network 81 starting at 7:00 p.m., or listen in on ESPN Radio 1380, Box Score, and the TuneIn Radio app beginning at 6:45 p.m.
