Fatal Vehicle Crash, Crosscreek Blvd. & Washington Center Road

Details:
On Sunday, 06/08/2015, at approximately 2:17 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the intersection of Washington Center Road and Crosscreek Blvd. reference a vehicle crash with injuries. Officers arrived on scene and observed the crash involved a passenger car and a pickup truck. Both vehicles had extensive front end damage and the pickup truck was on its side as a result of the crash. Medics pronounced the driver of the pickup truck deceased at the scene. Medics transported the driver of the passenger car to a nearby hospital reference a leg injury.
The drivers of the two vehicles were the only occupants inside the vehicles at the time of the crash. Crash investigators are currently processing the scene and trying to determine which direction each vehicle was traveling prior to the crash. Investigators believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash. Washington Center Road remains closed to all traffic between Westcreek Blvd. and Crosscreek Blvd.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner’s Office, and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim along with the cause and manner of death. There are no additional details regarding this investigation at this time.
