Shooting Investigation, 1400 Cass Street

Date: June 2, 2015

Time: 8:40 hours

Location: Alley West of 1400 Cass St.

Victim: 2 male juveniles critical condition

Details:
On June 2, 2015 at approximately 8:40 hours Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the area of 1600 Cass St. in regards to a shooting. City Dispatchers received calls from two different complainant parties advising that the vicitms of the shooting were at their repective residences. One male juvenile victim was located in the back yard of 1400 Cass St. The other male juvenile victim walked to a residence on the 1600 block of Cass St. seeking help. Both respective home owners called EMS and Police on behalf of the victims.

Both victims were taken to a local hospital in critical condition by paramedics.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the two victims were with another male juvenile friend possibly en rotue to purchase narcotics. Initial reports point to something going wrong with the transaction and shots being fired. The crime scene is believed to be in the Alley West of 1400 Cass St. were a shell casing was located. It is reasoned that after being shot one victim made it to a residence on 1400 Cass st. seeking aid and the other victim was able to make it to a residence on the 1600 block of Cass st. requesting help.

Detectives are currently following fresh leads regarding suspect information. There is a person of interest that is beleived to be connected with this incident. This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
