News release from the Fort Wayne Dance Collective:

Annual June Family Concert: Songs of Eagles

(May 28, 2015) — Fort Wayne Dance Collective presents its Annual June Family Concert Friday, June 12, 2015 at 7 p.m. in the South Side High School Auditorium, 3610 S. Calhoun St. Fort Wayne, IN 46807.

This year’s production entitled “Songs of Eagles,” is an original story-dance written by Artistic Director, Liz Monnier. Inspired by the culture of the Pacific Northwest, the story captures the quest of a young girl seeking her spirit guide. As she travels further and further into the woods, away from her tribe, she gets lost in a dreamy world of stars, owls, grasshoppers, spirits and bears. When she tumbles down the side of a mountain, she is rescued by her spirit guide who then begins to council her with secrets of the natural world.

The cast of the production includes 150 students from the Fort Wayne Dance Collective aging in range from 3-60 along with dancers from FWDC outreach site, Bi-County Services in Bluffton.

Tickets for the performance are $13 for adults and $11 for students and may be purchased at fwdc.org, or by calling 260-424-6574. Tickets will be sold at the door. Seating is general admission.

The mission of the Fort Wayne Dance Collective is to inspire and empower people of all ages and abilities through movement and rhythm.
