News release from the TinCaps:

Rain results in postponed game

(May 30, 2015) – For the first time since May 31, 2012, a TinCaps game at Parkview Field has been postponed. After a run of 216 consecutive games without a postponement, rain prohibited Fort Wayne and the West Michigan Whitecaps from taking the field on Saturday night. The TinCaps and Whitecaps are now set to play a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at the originally scheduled time of 1:05 p.m.

Fans who had tickets to Saturday’s game can redeem them at the Parkview Field Ticket Office for any future regular season game in 2015. For those with tickets to Sunday’s originally scheduled game, the tickets are now good for both games of the doubleheader. The TinCaps and Whitecaps will play two seven-inning games with a 30-minute break in between. Parkview Field’s gates will open at 12:05 pm. on Sunday.

Rain came down in Fort Wayne most of the day Saturday. While it let up for a while early in the evening, the tarp went back on the field at 6:37 p.m. The scheduled 7:05 pm. first pitch never happened and the game was officially called at 8:14 p.m.

The TinCaps will be playing their third doubleheader in five days on Sunday. Fort Wayne had doubleheaders against Great Lakes on Tuesday and Thursday this week.

Sunday’s games can be seen on Comcast Network 81 (coverage starts at 1:00 p.m.) and heard on ESPN Radio 1380, Box Score, and the TuneIn Radio app (coverage starts at 12:45 p.m.).

Despite the rainout, the TinCaps will be looking to sustain the momentum from their 12-inning win on Friday night when Franmil Reyes hit a walk-off home run in the 12th inning in the opener of their four-game set with West Michigan.
