News release from the Fort Wayne International Airport:

Philly PHLyaway contest to launch June 4 at Lunch on the Plaza

(May 26, 2015) – Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) has teamed up with the Fort Wayne Downtown Improvement District, 95.1 Best FM, Fun 101.7, and Visit Philly to host a summer contest at the Lunch on the Plaza concert series. The Philly PHLyaway contest will award one winner and their guest a weekend getaway to Philadelphia, including roundtrip airfare on American Airlines, a three-night hotel stay at The Sonesta Philadelphia Downtown, and complimentary admission to five must-see tourist attractions.

“FWA’s new nonstop service to Philadelphia has been very well received by the community and we’re celebrating that success by sending a winner and their guest there for an end-of-summer trip to remember,” said Executive Director of Airports Scott Hinderman. “Lunch on the Plaza has become a downtown summer staple, and one that we hope will both draw guests to downtown Fort Wayne and also promote the travel opportunities now available from FWA.”

One entry per guest per week will be accepted at the FWA, 95.1, and 101.7 booths at Lunch on the Plaza, located at the I&M Power Center Plaza on the corner of Wayne and Calhoun Streets. Lunch on the Plaza takes place every Thursday in June, July, and August from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for a total of 13 chances to enter the Philly PHLyaway.

In addition to airfare and hotel accommodations, the winner and their guest will receive complimentary admission to The Franklin Institute, Big Bus Company & Philadelphia Trolley Works, Adventure Aquarium, the Philadelphia Zoo or National Constitution Center, and the Eastern State Penitentiary or Please Touch Museum. This prize package is valued at $1,526. The winner will be announced following the final Lunch on the Plaza concert on Thursday, August 27, 2015.

FWA’s service to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) began October 2, 2014 via American Airlines/US Airways and departs Fort Wayne twice daily at 7 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Since the launch of the service, more than 31,000 people have traveled nonstop between the two cities.
