Airport authority releases name of new fixed base operation at FWA

(May 18, 2015) – The Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority has released the official name of the new fixed base operation (FBO) at Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA). Fort Wayne Aero Center will begin operating on January 1, 2016. Construction of a new FBO facility is scheduled to be complete by the end of the year.

“This is an exciting time for the airport authority as we launch a new line of services at the community’s airport,” said Executive Director of Airports Scott Hinderman. “While the new facility won’t be complete for some time, we’ve already hit the ground running in implementing a business plan our users can be proud of. We truly look forward to making this operation one of the best in the country in terms of facilities, amenities, and customer service.”

The name and logo were selected to make the airport and the city recognizable to transient pilots but also convey the quality of service the authority prides itself on and local users have come to expect.
