Mike Packnett Named 2015 Humanitarian of the Year
American Red Cross to honor community leader’s work at May 7 luncheon

(April 24, 2015) – The American Red Cross of Northeast Indiana has named Mike Packnett, President and CEO of Parkview Health, as its 2015 Humanitarian of the Year. The award recognizes an individual whose humanitarian contributions to our community exemplify the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

“Mike truly exemplifies the principle of humanitarian leadership,” said Katherine Mac Aulay, executive director of the American Red Cross of Northeast Indiana. “His commitment to community development and his generous contributions of time and resources to important causes in our region make Mike a deserving honoree.”

The award will be presented during a luncheon on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at noon at the Parkview Mirro Center for Research and Innovation, 10622 Parkview Plaza Drive in Fort Wayne. The event will also include the naming of a Youth Humanitarian of the Year, a mayoral proclamation and a musical performance by the band Breaking Tradition.

The public is invited and seating is still available by calling Monica Herbst at (260) 484-9338 extension 204. Tickets are $50 per person and include lunch. Proceeds benefit the American Red Cross of Northeast Indiana.
