Death Investigation, 2210 Eckart Street

Details: Fort Wayne police are investigating a body that was discovered inside a curbside trash bin Saturday afternoon in the rear of 2210 Eckart Street at approximately 2:50 p.m.
A neighbor working in his yard adjacent to 2210 Eckart Street observed the trash bin and went to retrieve it to dispose of his yard waste when the discovery was made. Detectives have yet to determine a gender, age or race of the deceased. 2210 Eckart is an abandon house that has been boarded up for several months.
An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday morning. This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner’s office and the Allen County Prosecutor’s office.
