House Fire, 3703 Arlington Avenue

(April 18, 2015) – The FWFD responded to a reported house fire, when the first crew arrived they found smoke coming from the rear of the structure. They made entry and found a fire in the basement and quickly extinguished it.

There were two occupants and four pets in the structure, the occupants self evacuated and got three dogs out prior to our arrival. There was a cat that was still in the house and a second crew located and removed from the cat from the strucure. The cat was barely breathing and unresponsive upon exiting the structure, it was given oxygen by a fire crew and started breathing better and became responsive and alert.

The Fire has been cleared by investigators and deemed accidental.

The FWFD was assisted by FWPD, TRAA, NCE, AEP, NIPSCO, Animal control.
