News release from the TinCaps:

Rain postpones 2015 TinCaps opener at Great Lakes

Midland, Mich. (April 9, 2015) – The TinCaps were supposed to begin their 2015 season on the road against the Great Lakes Loons on Thursday night. Mother Nature, however, had different plans. Fort Wayne’s first game of the season was postponed because of rain.

The TinCaps and Loons are now scheduled to play a doubleheader – a pair of seven-inning games – on Friday night beginning at 5:05 p.m., which is an hour earlier than the originally slated. Game 2 will begin 30 minutes following the conclusion of Game 1.

Both teams plan to stick with their scheduled starters. For the TinCaps, that’s left-hander Thomas Dorminy in Game 1 and right-hander Ernesto Montas in Game 2. The Loons are set to counter with righties Brock Stewart and Grant Holmes, respectively.

Fortunately for Fort Wayne, the forecast calls for sun and temperatures around 70 degrees on Sunday when the TinCaps have Opening Day at Parkview Field.

All TinCaps games can be heard on ESPN Radio 1380, Box Score, and the TuneIn Radio app starting at 4:45 p.m.
