News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House fire, 1505 East Rudisill Boulevard
(April 4, 2015) – Fort Wayne Firefighters responded to a report of a house fire at 1505 East Rudisill Boulevard yesterday evening at 9 pm. Upon arrival of first units the occupant, who self-evacuated, was outside the residence and advising there was smoke and fire coming from the stairs to the apartment at the front door. Firefighters extinguished the fire and removed smoke from the rest of the home. The occupant was checked by Three Rivers Ambulance medics and was released on scene.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, Fort Wayne Police Department, Neighborhood Code Enforcement, AEP and Nipsco.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
