News release from the Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana (YLNI):

YLNI Official Statement Regarding The Indiana Religious Freedom Restoration Act

(March 31, 2015) – YLNI has received numerous inquiries regarding our position on the recent passing of The Indiana Religious Freedom Restoration Act. While we have not formally polled our membership for everyone’s individual perspective, we feel it is important to publicly reiterate the mission of YLNI as an organization in respect to this particular issue.

The mission of Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana is to attract, develop, and retain emerging leaders through community, professional, and social engagement. We are committed to creating an environment that is open and inclusive to all. As the voice of young professionals in Northeast Indiana, we advocate for fair treatment of all members and visitors to our community. In order to grow both economically and culturally, we embrace a diverse society. We encourage our legislators to work swiftly to pass legislation clarifying the language in the RFRA.

YLNI will continue to monitor this situation closely as it develops.
