USF Hosting Interfaith Prayer Vigil
(March 20, 2015) — In light of recent events in the Middle East including killings, kidnappings, and destruction of sacred religious and cultural sites, the University of Saint Francis is hosting a prayer vigil on its campus on Wednesday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m. The “Prayer Vigil for Christians and all others being persecuted by ISIS and their allies” will be held near the statue of St. Francis in front of the USF campus Brookside building, 2701 Spring Street.
In response to atrocities directed toward Christian communities in Syria and Iraq and the beheading of 21 Coptic Christians in Libya, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has called upon Catholics to “invite people of all faiths to join us in prayer for those facing the stark reality of religious persecution in the Middle East and elsewhere.” The entire Fort Wayne interfaith community is invited to join the vigil on March 25 on the USF campus.
