News release from the University of Saint Francis:

USF Holding Contest to Help Name the new Marching Band

(March 13, 2015) — The University of Saint Francis is offering an opportunity to help name the new USF Marching Band, which is set to debut in 2016. The university is launching the band to engage with the community through various events, and the “Name the USF Marching Band” contest is another way local residents can be part of it.

“This is an incredible opportunity for University of Saint Francis students as it will be the first collegiate marching band in the city of Fort Wayne,” said Band Director Dr. Steven Kandow “We’re excited to find out what creative ideas our community has for the new band’s name.”

The “Name the USF Marching Band” contest begins March 16 and ideas can be submitted at https://www.sf.edu/academics/creative-arts/. Entries will be accepted through April 13. USF students will choose the band’s name from a pool of the most popular names submitted. The new USF Marching Band name will be announced later in April.
