USF Planetarium WinterFest 2015 Weekend Shows
(February 24, 2015) — The University of Saint Francis and the Edwin Clark Schouweiler Memorial Planetarium WinterFest 2015, concludes this weekend, February 27-March 1.
Friday, February 27
7:30 p.m. – “Explorers of Mauna Kea”
Travel to the big island of Hawaii to experience the telescopes and astronomy on the top of the planet’s tallest mountain. For 5th grade through Adult audiences.Saturday, February 28
Family Matinees:
2 p.m. -“Zubenelgenubi’s Magical Sky”
For children pre-K -1st grade and accompanying adults.
4 p.m. -“The StarGazer”
Children and young people 5th grade and up and accompanying adults.7:30 p.m. – “Hotter Than Blue”
X-ray, Gamma ray and other high-energy astronomy. For 5th grade through Adult audiences.Sunday, March 1
Family Matinee:
4 p.m. – “Larry Cat in Space”
Learn about the Moon from a family pet who travels to the Moon. Fun for children of all ages and accompanying adults.5:30 p.m. – “Aurora”
The secrets of the Northern and Southern Lights revealed. For 5th grade through adult audiences.Programs include a multimedia show, a staff-led tour of Fort Wayne’s night sky and attendees receive a star chart to take home. The Zubenelgenubi experience is approximately 45 minutes, and the Larry Cat experience is approximately 60 minutes. All other programs are 90 minutes. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for children under 18 and senior citizens. The maximum charge is $14 per family. (Family consisting of 2 adults and their dependent children)
Visitors should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to show time to purchase tickets. No admittance after program starts.
