The Downtown Comedy Series at the Embassy – 3/18/2015

News release from the Embassy Theatre:

Jirk Comedy presents The Downtown Comedy Series at the Embassy
Featuring DJ Dangler and Mike Bobbitt on Mar. 18, 8 p.m.

(February 18, 2015) – Jirk Comedy is bringing comedy to downtown Fort Wayne on Mar. 18 in the Indiana Hotel Lobby at the Embassy.

Jirk Comedy is dedicated to creating a culture of comedy in Fort Wayne and throughout the Midwest. Jirk Comedy first hosted comedy downtown last December when Ryan Singer and Beth Stelling performed in the Indiana Hotel Lobby. Pleased by the response, Jirk has put together another show.

DJ Dangler grew up in a small Midwestern town. Being the youngest of six kids, he was essentially ignored until his father realized he was probably big enough to be good at football. He graduated from college and moved to New York City. While he was there, he started telling jokes, and people liked it. His style is sharp and high energy. He draws from his many and varied interests to relate to most any crowd and blends New York cynicism with genuine Midwestern agreeability to present a different take on both the trivial and substantial aspects of life.

Detroit native Mike Bobbitt brings a punk rock edge to his nerd comedy by embracing his obsessions. With the charm and candor of a smart-aleck kid who’s ‘just too smart for his own good,’ Mike’s been making audiences laugh for years. He has written for Funny or Die, and has acted on ABC Family’s Freak Out, more crime reenactment television shows than you can shake a stick at and a couple independent movies due out this year. He also looks great in blue.

Tickets are just $18 and go on sale Feb. 18 through ticketmaster.com, charge-by-phone, 800.745.3000 or at the Embassy box office. The show will take place in the historic Indiana Hotel lobby where the comedians will be up-close and personal with the audience making for a very unique and fun evening.
