Lake effect snow Today thru Thursday
Bitter cold wind chill values tonight
(February 18, 2015) – Lake effect snow will continue this afternoon. These lake effect snow bands will cause reduced visibilities and blowing/drifting snow at times, especially across northern Indiana and southwest lower Michigan. Lake effect snow will continue tonight through Thursday. Snowfall amounts will be highly variable across the region, with total snowfall of 6 to 12 inches across Berrien and Cass counties in Michigan, where the lake effect bands will persist through Thursday. Variable amounts of 2 to 5 inches are possible in the counties under a Winter Weather Advisory. Wind chill values will drop significantly tonight, with -10 to -25 wind chills expected. Highs on Thursday will only be in the single digits, with below zero wind chills through the day.
