Futures defeat Prospects in 2015 NBA D-League All-Star Game presented by Khumo Tire
Andre Emmett Named Most Valuable PlayerNEW YORK, (February 15, 2015) – The Eastern Conference Futures defeated the Western Conference Prospects 129-94 on Sunday afternoon at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., in the ninth NBA Development League All-Star Game presented by Kumho Tire. The game featured 20 of the NBA D-League’s top prospects competing on basketball’s biggest stage.
Fort Wayne Mad Ants forward Andre Emmett (Futures) took home MVP honors with a team-high 28 points to go with three rebounds and two assists. The Futures’ balanced attack saw Chris Babb (Maine), Seth Curry (Erie), Willie Reed (Grand Rapids) and Damien Wilkins (Iowa) finish with 13 points apiece, while Tim Frazier (Maine) dished out a game-high 10 assists.
The Futures used a 39-10 run in the second half to stretch their lead to 37 points, the largest margin in NBA D-League All-Star Game history.
Quincy Miller (Reno) led all Prospects scorers with 28 points and seven rebounds. Los Angeles’ Jabari Brown scored 17 points, while Elliot Williams (Santa Cruz) finished with 16 in defeat.
With 28 points each, Emmett and Miller tied the fourth-highest total in NBA D-League All-Star Game history.
Jarrel Eddie (Austin) tipped off the day by winning the Boost Mobile NBA D-League All-Star Three-Point Contest. Eddie defeated Curry by amassing 25 points in the final round of the competition.
Jarvis Threatt (Rio Grande Valley) won the Boost Mobile NBA D-League All-Star Slam Dunk Competition during the game’s halftime break. Threatt defeated Thanasis Antetokounmpo (Westchester) in the final round with a combined score of 95 points.
