Protect Pipes During Cold Weather
(February 16, 2015) – As bitter cold temperatures continue, City Utilities reminds customers to take steps to protect pipes and water meters.
- Keep garage doors closed as much as possible to protect your water meter.
- Run a small stream of water, about the size of a pencil lead, to keep water moving through pipes.
- Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air get to the pipes.
