324 PM EST SAT FEB 14 2015

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM EST THIS EVENING…

…WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 11 AM EST SUNDAY…

HAZARDOUS WEATHER…

* SNOW…STORM TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON.

* BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW…NORTHWEST WINDS GUSTING AS HIGH AS 40 TO 45 MPH WILL RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW AND REDUCED VISIBILITIES. VISIBILITIES OF LESS THAN ONE QUARTER OF A MILE ARE EXPECTED DUE TO SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW. WHITEOUT OR NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS CAN BE EXPECTED AT TIMES THROUGH EARLY EVENING…ESPECIALLY ACROSS OPEN AREAS.

* DANGEROUS WIND CHILLS VALUES BETWEEN 15 BELOW ZERO AND 25 BELOW ZERO ARE EXPECTED TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING.

IMPACTS…

* TRAVEL IS EXPECTED TO BE HAZARDOUS DUE TO FALLING SNOW… AND BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW…WITH SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED VISIBILITIES.

* BITTERLY COLD WIND CHILLS MAY LEAD TO FROST BITE IN 30 MINUTES OR LESS.

* PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO THIS EXTREME COLD CAN LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS…MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW MEANS THAT VISIBILITIES WILL BE LIMITED DUE TO A COMBINATION OF FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW. USE CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING… ESPECIALLY IN OPEN AREAS.
