Bank Robbery Investigation

Victim: First Source Bank

Details:

On Thursday, 02/12/2015, at approximately 6:43 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to 7821 Carnegie Blvd, First Source Bank, reference a reported bank robbery.

Initial reports indicate several armed subjects approached a bank employee and demanded money. A physical description of the suspects is not available at this time. The suspects fled the scene eastbound on Illinois Road in a white colored vehicle with an undisclosed amount of money.

There were no customers inside the bank at the time of the robbery and no injuries were reported. Crime Scene Technicians are currently processing the scene for potential evidence. Investigators are reviewing video surveillance from the bank and nearby businesses. Nearby schools were placed on a precautionary “lock-down” status at approximately 7:01 AM and the “lock-down” status was released at 8:20 AM.

Investigators are requesting anyone that was in the area of the First Source Bank this morning between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM and observed any suspicious vehicles or activity to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department at 260-427-1201 or the local FBI office 260-426-5331.

This incident remains under investigation by the Northeast Indiana Bank Robbery Task Force. This task force is composed of investigators with the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Police Department, the Indiana State Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
