Join Trine University for the third annual Green Expo in February

ANGOLA, Ind. (February 2, 2015) – Residents are invited to learn about conservation and the environment at the third annual Green Expo at Trine University.

S.P.E.A.K. (Students Promoting Environmental Awareness and Knowledge) for the Earth is hosting the Green Expo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, in the Rick L. and Vicki L. James University Center. The expo aims to raise environmental awareness among campus and community members by bringing together local and regional businesses, conservation organizations, resource stewards and environmental educators. Admission to the expo is free.

Community members are welcome to participate as exhibitors and presenters. Exhibitors and presenters can sign up until Tuesday, Feb. 10. There is no charge to participate or to register to participate.

The list of exhibitors (below) shows the diverse range of information that will be available.

2015 Green Expo Lineup

Presenters/workshop coordinators: Topics will range from environmental journaling to eating healthy on a budget and local conservation efforts.

  • Indiana Forest Alliance: Organization that seeks to preserve and regenerate Indiana’s ecosystems

  • S.P.E.A.K. for the Earth: Connects the Trine campus and the community in environmental efforts
  • Acres Land Trust: Preserving the region’s natural areas since 1960
  • Angola Farmer’s Market: Provides the Angola community with local foods
  • Little Gem Nursery: Specializing in non-genetically modified heirloom seeds and growing supplies
