Greater Fort Wayne Inc. supports House Bill 1403

(February 2, 2015) – Greater Fort Wayne Inc. (GFW Inc.) announced support for House Bill 1403, authored by Representative Jerry Torr.

“This is a bill that reflects GFW Inc.’s established legislative agenda: economic development policies that encourage development and job creation,” said John Urbahns, executive vice president of economic development. “We want to attract talent and investment to greater Fort Wayne. With this bill, we are excited to continue to work with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) and build a prosperous future for this region and all of Indiana.”

House Bill 1403 would establish the Indiana Regional City Fund to provide grants and loans to regional development authorities and presents that the Indiana Economic Development Corporation administer the funds to projects with the greatest economic development potential and regional collaboration. The bill also includes criteria for the IEDC board to consider when reviewing applications.

GFW Inc. will be working collaboratively with the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership and the surrounding region on an application to the program.
