He will identify and cultivate potential donors to the Ivy Tech Foundation; build partnerships with community groups, employers, customized training clients, foundations and individuals to further the mission of the College and bring in resources to support students, faculty, and programs; and develop and implement strategies to convert prospects to donors and to encourage continued giving by current donors.

“I am excited about the opportunity to lead Ivy Tech Northeast’s fundraising efforts. Our graduates earn the highest ROI in higher education with an average first-year earnings of more than $37,000,” says Barie. “By providing opportunities to students and working with local employers to constantly meet workforce demand, Ivy Tech Northeast has and will continue to be, a critical component to the success of northeast Indiana.”

The firm managed more than $80 million in investment funds for the state of Indiana. Prior to moving to Indiana, he served as a political operative working for multiple federal and statewide campaigns including U.S. Senate, U.S. Congress, and New York State Governor. In addition, Barie served as assistant to the CFO at a midsized steel fabrication plant in Plattsburgh, N.Y., where he gained significant experience in business operations and advanced manufacturing.
