CANI to host free small business class

(January 7, 2015) – CANI’s Center for Community and Economic Development (CCED) will be hosting a free course on the Principles of Starting a Small Business on Monday, January 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The event will be held at the Allen County Public Library – Main Branch located at 900 Library Plaza, Fort Wayne in the Business, Science and Technology Meeting Room.

This course is designed for aspiring entrepreneurs to learn about the challenges and potential pitfalls of starting a business and will cover the following topics: business legal structures, budgeting and start-up financing, building a customer base, and business feasibility. The course will be taught by Leslie Alford of Full Scope Consulting, an expert in the field of emerging businesses. Prior to starting Full Scope Consulting, Alford was the director of the Women’s Enterprise program in Fort Wayne for six years. This will be the first in a series of four courses.
