A wintry week: outlook
(January 5, 2015) – A busy week in winter weather is forecast. After light to moderate snow moves through the area tonight and Tuesday morning, expect lake effect snow to kick in for areas favored by northwest winds.
There is potential for several inches of accumulation Tuesday night into Wednesday, mainly in far northwest Indiana and southwest Lower Michigan. In addition to lake effect snow, wind chills Wednesday through Friday could drop to 15 to 25 below.
High temperatures by mid week will struggle to get out of the single digits above zero. Low temperatures will range from -10 to 6 F above.
