Allen County SPCA offers holiday pups at Holiday Pops

(December 18, 2014) – The Allen County SPCA has partnered with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic to feature adoptable dogs during each of this weekend’s Holiday Pops concerts.

“We were approached by Holiday Pops director, Chris Murphy, about adding a fun, new element to this year’s concert series,” said Jessica Henry, director of the Allen County SPCA. “When we heard the principals wanted to bring our dogs onstage, we were elated.” In addition to the dogs in the cast, adoptable dogs will be available in the lobby before the show and during intermission.

Concert goers also will be able to purchase golden tickets, the gift certificate for pet adopters. The certificates are good for the adoption of one cat or dog with an approved adoption application, and the certificates never expire. “Instead of surprising a family member with an unexpected pet, we encourage giving a golden ticket which allows everyone in the family to pick the right animal at the right time. Plus, golden tickets fit neatly in a stocking – far more easily than a cat or dog does,” stated Henry. Golden tickets for cats are $10 and $85 for dogs.
