Shooting Investigation, 1300 block of Goshen Avenue

Date and Time: 12/9/2014 at 12:57 a.m.

Location: 1300 block of Goshen Avenue

Victim: Adult Male, Critical Condition; Adult Male Fair Condition

Details: On December 9, 2014 at approximately 12:57 AM Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 1300 block of Goshen Avenue in regards to a shooting. A male complainant party called police stating that his friend had been shot and that the suspect vehicle left with no tail lights and then hung up. Dispatchers were able to get a location by pinging the complainant party’s phone which indicated the 1300 block of Goshen Avenue.

Officers were able to locate the crime scene after observing blood on an apartment door. The victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition by the complainant party prior to police arrival. There was an earlier call for service at this location around 4:00 pm on December 8, 2014 regarding a disturbance with a firearm. It is believed that the victim of the shooting was the complainant party for the previous call.

During the course of the investigation another possible victim walked into a local hospital with a gunshot wound. It is unknown at this time whether the two shootings were related. Investigators were in the process of attempting to locate another crime scene and interview the other victim. The victim who walked into a local hospital was in fair condition.

This incident remains under investigation by The Fort Wayne Police Department and The Prosecutor’s Office.
