Fort Wayne Track Club annual banquet
(December 8, 2014) – The Fort Wayne Track Club is pleased to announce the keynote speaker for their 2014 annual banquet will be Lauren Fleshman, elite runner and Oiselle representative.
The event on Jan. 25, at Hotel Fort Wayne will include a pre-event Women’s Health Clinic for women and social time for the guys starting at3:30 p.m. Dinner, awards and speaker will start at 5:30. Cost for the event is just $25, $2015 for Fort Wayne Track Club members. Register by Dec. 31 to save $5.
Elite runner Lauren Fleshman is a U.S. track and field athlete who now runs for Oiselle, a women’s running apparel company. She attended Stanford University, where she was an All-American in cross country and track and field. In her marathon debut, the 2011 New York City Marathon, she finished 12th with a time of 2:37:23. Lauren, the mother of a young son, hopes to compete in the 2016 Olympics. She will be speaking about her training journal called, “Believe” just released in November. The journal is a year-long plan to help runners push harder, find the sweet spot, and use running to make life even better.
The Chris Brown Outstanding Male and Female High School runners will be announced along with the top three Fort Wayne Track Club Points Series finishers in each age group and to the Ironmen and Ironwomen who completed all 15 Points Series races in 2014. Recipients of special Track Club awards, including Volunteer of the Year, Spirit of Running, Golden Shoe and President’s Award, also will be announced.
