News release from the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Indiana:
Ronald McDonald House at Parkview Announces Expansion
(November 19, 2014) – The Ronald McDonald House at Parkview, located inside Parkview Regional Medical Center, announced plans to expand its facility today.
The expansion project calls for the addition of 4 guest rooms bringing the size of the Ronald McDonald House to 10,500 square feet and a total of 15 family guest rooms. There are only 12 in-hospital Ronald McDonald Houses in the world and, after the expansion, the Ronald McDonald House at Parkview will have the distinction of being the largest.
Construction is slated to begin in January of 2015. Executive Director, Lisa Pacula said the new space will be ready to welcome families by May 2015, “We feel so fortunate for the opportunity to serve more families in need of a place to stay while their child is hospitalized.”
“When a child is hospitalized, parents shouldn’t have to worry about finding a place to eat, sleep or take a break from it all,” said Mike Packnett, president and CEO, Parkview Health. “We’re thrilled to have the Ronald McDonald House inside Parkview Regional Medical Center, and just down the hall from our NICU and Pediatric units. This expansion will allow even more parents to access it easily while staying close to their loved one.”
