Angel Trees appear throughout Fort Wayne

News release from the Salvation Army:

Angel Trees appear throughout Fort Wayne

(November 20, 2014) – Angel Trees are appearing throughout Fort Wayne – containing thousands of tags that each represent a child in need right here in Fort Wayne!

The Salvation Army Angel Tree program attempts to provide all children in need with a gift of clothing this Christmas. Area businesses have trees containing Angel Tree tags.. Each tag is individually marked to represent a child, and the sizes of his/her most needed items. Individuals and groups may then take a tag and go shopping for the child, and then return their gift to the location where they picked up the tag.

This year, 2,000 children applied to receive assistance from The Salvation Army, and each one is represented by one of these tags. More children applied this year than ever before – requiring a greater need for the generous donations from the community.

Tags can be picked up at The Salvation Army, 2901 N. Clinton, or at these locations:

  • Walmart Locations: Lima Rd, Coldwater, Southtown, Maysville and Apple Glen
  • Glenbrook Mall: Sears, Macy’s. JC Penney
  • Chick-Fil-A – Apple Glen
  • iAB Financial – Dupont Rd

Tags can also be “picked up” online at www.safortwayne.org

To get involved in assisting those in need, please call The Salvation Army at 744-2311.

And remember, by December 24th, The Salvation Army needs to raise $456,000 in order to continue offering assistance programs to those in need throughout 2015.

Won’t you help us meet our goal so that we can help meet the community’s need?
