USF Nurse Practitioner program awarded maximum ten-year accreditation through 2024
(November 12, 2013 – The University of Saint Francis MSN program and the post-MSN Certificate program were awarded the maximum ten years accreditation status from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCCNE), the national nursing accreditation organization. November 9-15 is celebrated as National Nurse Practitioner week.
Ten years is the maximum accreditation that can be earned by a graduate nursing program. The accrediting agency noted that the program met all accreditation standards with no concerns with respect to any accreditation criteria. USF’s MSN program has been accredited since 1999.
The University of Saint Francis has been preparing Family Nurse Practitioners since 1998. Assistant Professor and MSN Director Dr. Wendy Clark led the accreditation process and reports that USF graduates have consistently earned nearly perfect pass rates for national certification. “USF graduates are working in numerous primary care settings and in medically underserved areas across our region. Ninety-two students are currently enrolled and 32 will graduate in May 2015,” stated Clark.
