Fort Wayne Mad Ants announce pre-draft trade with Austin Spurs

(November 1, 2014) – The Fort Wayne Mad Ants, presented by Lutheran Health Network, have agreed to trade the rights to Jarrell Eddie to the Austin Spurs in exchange for Myck Kabongo and Austin’s 2nd Round Draft Pick (21st Overall Selection). The Mad Ants originally acquired the rights to Eddie via the affiliate training camp rule.

Kabongo, a 6’3″ 180-pound point guard, played in 45 games last season with Austin, averaging 9.2 points, 4.7 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game. Collegiately, Kanbongo played for the University of Texas and averaged 10.8 points, 5. 3 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game throughout two seasons with the Longhorns. He was named to the 2012 Big 12 All-Rookie team and earned a spot on the 2012 All-Big 12 Honorable Mention list.

The Mad Ants will tip off the 2014-15 regular season at the Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, November 15 against the Sioux Falls Skyforce at 7:30 p.m. The home opener will feature a banner presentation and ring ceremony to commemorate the Mad Ants winning the 2014 NBA Development League Championship last season.
