USF hosting visiting author in Student Center
(September 29, 2014) — The University of Saint Francis School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Sullivan Reading Series will host a reading by author Christine Sneed on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Student Center.
Sneed is a graduate of the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) creative writing program at Indiana University and has published stories in Best American Short Stories, PEN/O. Henry Prize Stories, New England Review, The Southern Review, Ploughshares, Pleiades, Glimmer Train, Massachusetts Review, Meridian, Other Voices, Greensboro Review, River Styx, Phoebe, South Dakota Review and a number of other journals.
She has received an Illinois Arts Council Fellowship in poetry and the 2013 21st Century Award from the Chicago Public Library Foundation, in addition to special mentions in the Pushcart Prize anthology for the stories “Quality of Life” and “Beach Vacation.”
She lives in Evanston, Illinois and teaches creative writing for Northwestern University’s graduate writing program and for Pacific University’s low-residency MFA program.
