Critical Motorcycle Accident

Incident Date: 9/19/2014, 3:52 PM

Incident Location: I-469 WB to I-69 SB

Victim: Adult Male / Critical Condition

 

On Friday, September 19, 2014, at 3:52 PM, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of an injury accident near the I-469/I-69 interchange. Officers arrived and located an adult male to be in critical condition. He was taken to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Initial reports indicate a motorcyclist was traveling westbound on I-469, and as he entered the ramp to go southbound on I-69, left the roadway and came to a rest down the embankment. At this time, it is unknown what caused the male to leave the roadway.

Investigators are processing the scene, searching for evidence. The victim was the only occupant of the motorcycle, and no other crashes occurred or vehicles were involved. The victim did not appear to be wearing a helmet.

This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department FACT team.
