Fort Wayne’s Famous Coney Island Celebrates 100 Years with Block Party

(September 9, 2014) – One of America’s largest running hot dog stands, Fort Wayne’s Famous Coney Island, will celebrate 100 years in business with a Block Party in downtown Fort Wayne on September 20.

The celebration will take place in front of the historic hot dog stand at 131 W. Main Street, closing down one of the city’s most iconic streets. Coney Island invites fans, friends and family of all ages to attend.

Starting at 11 a.m., the event will feature several family-friendly activities, including a photo booth, magicians, buskers, balloon artists, and dunk tank.

There will also be a beer tent hosted by the Deer Park Pub, live music from local artists, Fort Wayne trivia contests, and two costume contests – Best Dressed in a 1914 Era Outfit and Best Dressed Dog.

Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy Coney Island’s famous coneys for $1.50, Coke from the classic bottles and birthday cake. Admission to the event is free of charge.
