Drive-by Shooting Investigation

Date: Thursday, September 4, 2014

Time: 4:18 p.m.

Location: 2800 Block Drexel Avenue

Victim: M/22 Serious-Critical Condition, Fort Wayne

Details:

Fort Wayne police responded to the 2800 block of Drexel Avenue on the reported shooting. On arrival officers observed a male adult down next to the passenger side of a parked vehicle suffering from multiple gunshots. The male was transported to a local hospital where his condition fluctuates between serious and critical condition.

Detectives have indicated that the victim was standing next to a parked vehicle when a dark colored compact vehicle traveling west on Drexel Avenue approached and shots were fired from inside the moving vehicle at the victim. The perpetrating vehicle was last seen continuing west on Drexel Avenue after the shooting. There is nothing to indicate that this incident is related to any previous incident. Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in providing any information that will help this investigation to a successful conclusion by contacting Crime Stoppers at 436-Stop (436-7867).

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne police Department, and the Allen County Prosecutor’s office.
