News release from Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation:

Beware: Online Ticket Scalpers Overpricing ZZ Top Tickets for Foellinger Theatre

(August 5, 2014) – The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department has been contacted by several patrons who have unintentionally entered online ticket scalping sites to purchase ZZ Top tickets for their October 8th concert at Foellinger Theatre. Often the ticket prices on the scalper sites are much higher than the Parks & Recreation Department sells them for. ZZ Top tickets are $49 – $99.

Most issues have occurred when a patron performs an Internet search for ZZ Top tickets or for Foellinger Theatre. The ticket scalping sites look authentic because the words “Foellinger Theatre” are included in the URL and are also displayed on the home page of the site. Most of these scalping sites have a McAfee Secure Site logo, which further confuses the ticket buyer.

To guard against overpaying for Foellinger Theatre tickets, the Department recommends that patrons go directly to www.fortwayneparks.org and click on “Order Your Tickets Today.” That link will lead patrons to a list of concerts with their correct ticket prices and a seating chart, as well as an option to purchase directly from the Parks & Recreation Department. Tickets may also be purchased by calling the Parks & Recreation office at 260-427-6000, by visiting 705 East State Blvd., Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm or purchasing tickets from any of the three Wooden Nickel Music stores in Fort Wayne.
