Allen County Fun Fair seeks pageant entries, performers; deadline July 1st

(June 20, 2014) – The Allen County Fun Fair is looking for Queen and Little Miss Pageant contestants, as well as bands, dance groups or vocalists to perform on the free activities stage as it celebrates its 25th anniversary July 22-27.

The Miss Allen County Queen Pageant is set for 6 p.m. July 20 at Carroll High School, 3701 Carroll Road in Fort Wayne. Participants must be between the ages of 16-21, and must reside, attend school or participate in a community organization within Allen County, such as 4-H, youth choir or church. All contestants will be judged based on the following criteria: interview, professional wear, evening gown and an on stage question. Applicants must be available from 12:30-3 p.m. on July 19 for a mandatory practice at Carroll High School.

The pageant winner will participate in fair activities July 22-27 along with her court, and will go on to compete for the Miss Indiana State Fair Queen Pageant Jan. 2-4, 2015.

Younger ladies ages 2-15 can participate in the Little Miss Pageant, which kicks off during the Miss Allen County Queen Pageant, and runs through Thursday, July 24. It’s not required for applicants to reside within Allen County to participate. The Little Miss titles are determined by funds raised, with each penny equaling a vote for each girl, and all donations go toward the Miss Allen County Queen Scholarship Fund. All participants receive a crown and prize package.

The fair also invites all interested bands, dance groups, or vocalists to showcase their talents on the community stage during fours days of the fair. Acts must provide all equipment, but electricity and sound assistance will be provided.

Openings include:

  • Wednesday, July 23, 6-10 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 24, 8-10 p.m.
