One Dead after Single Car Crash
Investigation Details:
On 6/5/14 at approximately 0002 hours the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single vehicle crash on Lima Road just north of Hathaway Road. According to a witness a male driving a white work van was south on Lima road when he lost control. The van then crossed the median and the north bound lanes of Lima Road. At that point the van went off the roadway and landed approximately 50 feet into a pond. Fort Wayne Dive Team and Huntertown Fire Department assisted in the rescue. The driver was transported to a local hospital in critical condition where he later died. This crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
