News release from the Embassy Theatre:

Dudefest gets underway at 5 p.m.

(May 30, 2014) – Cinema Center and the Embassy Theatre have partnered for “Dudefest” featuring a screening of The Big Lebowski tonight. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the movie will start at 7:30 p.m.

The Big Lebowski movie was released in 1998 starring Jeff Bridges and John Goodman. It has developed into a cult classic, with many Lebowski Festivals held across the country. According to Jonah Crismore, executive director of the Cinema Center, it is their most requested movie. Two years ago the Cinema Center showed the movie at Indiana Tech to a capacity crowd. This time Cinema Center wanted to allow even more people to attend and approached the Embassy about showing the movie and hosting Dudefest. “We have been looking to partner with Cinema Center and this was the perfect opportunity,” says Kelly Updike, executive director of the Embassy. “As an added bonus, the event is a fundraiser for both Cinema Center and the Embassy.”

Dudefest will start at 5 p.m. with the Bravas Food truck offering it’s menu and the Embassy bars will be featuring white russians. Crazy Pinz is placing a bowling alley inside the Embassy for the evening and giving away a Suite Party Package valued at $500. There will also be a costume contest, trivia contest and a chance to win an official Big Lebowski rug.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 day of show and will go on sale Friday, April 25, at the Embassy box office, Ticketmaster.com and 1.800.745.3000
