MKM architecture + design awards $4,000 in scholarships to BSU third year CAP students.

(May 22, 2014) – MKM architecture + design (MKM) partners Ron Menze, AIA, ACHA, EDAC and Zach Benedict, AIA, LEED AP recently served as judges in Ball State University’s (BSU) College of Architecture and Planning (CAP) annual design competition for all third year architecture students. Winners of the design competition received gifts up to $1,000 funded through the MKM Scholarship. A Fort Wayne based studio critique was also conducted at the MKM offices for 30 student architectural students adding to the student’s experience.

Ball State University’s CAP student winners include the team of Zach Herbst and Sam Pfeifer who placed first received $2,000; The team of Jimmy Darling and Sasha Mballa Ekobena who placed second and received $1,000; Bailey Stultz who received $500 for third place; and the team Mike Culler and Lauren McWhorter who received $500 for their third place finish.

The third year capstone project was announced in January 2014 and will continue each year through Ball State University’s College of Architecture and Planning. Design awards will total $4,000 annually.

MKM has offered a student scholarship at Ball State University’s College of Architecture and Planning (CAP) since 1993. Over the past twenty years, MKM has awarded over $14,000 to 28 students. In 2000, MKM established an endowed scholarship account at the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne (CFGFW) to secure our firm’s dedication to Ball State architecture students. This was the first endowed scholarship by an architecture firm to benefit CAP.
