Nearly 5300 Join Great American Cleanup
(May 16, 2014) – Nearly 5300 volunteers and 250 groups will take to the streets, trails and riverbanks this weekend as part of the City’s Great American Cleanup on Saturday May 17, 2014. They represent churches, youth groups, schools, businesses, neighborhood associations, and families.
Last year, Fort Wayne volunteers collected nearly 200,000 pounds of debris during the event.
A wrap-up party will take place from 11:30am-2:00pm at the Headwaters Park West Pavilion. More than 50 businesses donated funds and supplies to make this year’s event possible.
