Press release from the Fort Wayne Dance Collective:

FWDC Presents the 2014 June Family Concert
Three Sisters Who Changed the World

(May 13, 2014) – Fort Wayne Dance Collective presents its Annual June Family Concert with an original story-dance written and directed by Artistic Director, Liz Monnier. Three Sisters Who Changed the World will feature 150 performers ranging ages 3-60 from FWDC’s onsite and outreach programs including students from Bi-County Services in Bluffton.

The story revolves around three nutty sisters; Macadamia, Cashew and Pistachio who are sent into the world by their mother, Queen Parsley, to discover ways to improve their community of Milkenhoney, as well as to prove to the queen which of them will be deemed worthy to take over the throne.

In their quest for wisdom and knowledge, they encounter obstacles of waterfalls and dragons as well as being delighted with meeting new elf friends and fairies. Youth dancers, Corinne Hobbs, Eryn Lynn and Maddie Shank weave the story playing the roles of the three sisters. Younger dancers dance the roles of bees, sheep, soup makers, trains and flowers while others dance the roles of deer travelers, taiko drummers and belly dancers.

Local actor, Jeff Moore narrates the story and dancer/teacher, Kate Majorins dances the role of Queen Parsley.

It’s all in good fun and global joy as the finale brings it all together.
