IPFW and Lincoln Financial Unveil 4,000 Pound Sculpture at ACPL Main Library

(May 16, 2014) – Representatives from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) and presenting sponsor Lincoln Financial Group unveiled the massive “I’ll Keep an Eye on It” sculpture at the Allen County Public Library’s Main Library Plaza on Friday afternoon.

The sculpture, created by artist David Bibelhauser of Louisville, Ky., weighs over 4,000 pounds. It is one of the most massive pieces installed as part of Sculpture with Purpose,â„¢ the flagship project of IPFW’s 50th Celebration.
“It’s exciting to see this sculpture in place and to celebrate the two years of work and creativity it took to bring all of the pieces in Sculpture with Purpose to life,” said Vicky Carwein, IPFW’s chancellor.

“We hope this project strengthens the bonds between our community and our university, and serves as a catalyst for future public art endeavors,” said Irene Walters, executive director of university relations.

“It has been an honor for Lincoln Financial Group to be a part of this transformative project,” Ron Turpin, vice president-finance at Lincoln Financial Advisors. “Personally, I am delighted to see yet another example of how groups can work together to create a greater Fort Wayne.”

As a key part of IPFW’s 50th Celebration, Sculpture with Purpose enriches Fort Wayne with 50 sculptural bike racks. These sculptures engage the entire community, with installations downtown, on campus, and elsewhere in the city.
