United Way of Allen County Announces CEO to Retire September 30th

(May 9, 2014) – United Way of Allen County announced that effective September 30, its president and CEO, Todd Stephenson will retire. Stephenson’s retirement will come after four years of service to the organization and thirty years at Lincoln Financial group, where he served as senior vice president for 10 years.

 

 

“It has been very rewarding working at United Way on behalf of the Allen County community,” said Stephenson. “However, now is the time for me to start another phase in my life where I have the opportunity to fully enjoy spending time with my family, traveling with my wife and continuing to give back to our community in volunteer roles.”

Stephenson currently volunteers as a member of the Rotary Club of Fort Wayne, the board chair of Canterbury School and as a member of the board for Greater Fort Wayne, Inc. His previous volunteer efforts include serving as the board chair for The Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce, board president of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana and serving on the board of the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne.

Starting July 1st, United Way will also be ushering in a new chair for the board of director’s as the last chair completes her term. The current chair, Judge Wendy Davis will pass the gavel on to Steve Smith of Allied Physicians, Inc.

“As the board chair I am sad to see Todd go, but as a friend I am excited for him and his wife, especially as they get to spend more time with their grandchildren,” said Judge Davis. “As I end my term as board chair, I look forward to my continued involvement as a United Way board member and as the head of the search committee for the next president and CEO.”
